About Family Oaks Labradors
Our Story
We are the Thompson family
We are located in Southern Illinois where Caleb grew up and now serves as a pastor with The Journey Southern Illinois. We both grew up raising labs, and have a strong love for the breed. Our female Maggie lives in our home and is our family pet. Our name, Family Oaks, is rooted in our heart to provide family labs just like we are blessed with ourselves. -- Caleb and Brandie Thompson
Our Philosophy
Your Family Lab from our Family’s Labs:
Family Oaks began with a desire to buy the best English Labrador we could raise to grow up with our young family.
We breed from and to what is known as the bench style Labrador, or more often referred to as the English Labrador. Our Labradors all possess the sought after blocky head and barrel chest, but even more importantly the calm and kind demeanor.
Our labradors are first and foremost our pet. We are grateful for their champion pedigree, but we are breeding to offer the best in a companion pet to others as well.

What makes us unique is that we breed our family pets who live in our home. They are primarily our family dogs and throughout the process they and their puppies are cared for and treated as such.
All of our labs, and their puppies, are raised and cared for in our home.
Moose
We are so thankful to have added Moose from Cactus Rose Labradors. Moose truly has the best temperament of any Labrador we have met. He also has a high drive to retrieve, and because of both his proven lineage and personality we anticipate his pups will prove to make great hunting dogs as well as family pets.

Kent (Future Stud Dog)
Kent is the Lab you would make in a lab. He is all and more as described by his breeder: Smith's Labrador Retrievers. He is big Labrador with barrel chest and blocky head and he is the perfect shade of yellow. He is confident but keenly kind. As much as he loves to play fetch, he is even more content to lay at your feet. We are so excited for his prospect upon his OFA Finals in 2026.
